Mao Feng Organic
Tasting Notes: vegetal with soft nutty + floral notes
Description: A light-bodied green tea with vegetal notes of artichokes and asparagus balanced with soft notes of nuts and aromatic floral. A touch of smoke at the finish.
Mao Feng green tea is one of the ten famous teas of China. This exquisite type of tea has been grown in the Yellow Mountain Huang Shan region of Anhui province China for more than three hundred years.
Mao Feng green teas that are cultivated in the Huang Shan Region are considered the best of the Mao Fengs due to the terroir of the region. Terroir is a French word that explains how the natural environmental and cultural factors of a location help to give an agricultural product such as tea, wine or cheese its distinctive flavor.
For this Mao Feng tea, the high mountain location (3,000 feet above sea level in remote mountain terrain), the level of high quality harvesting of one leaf and one bud, and the unique processing of the tea leaves in this region help to create these legendary Mao Feng teas.
