New Harvest!

Tasting Notes: caramel, cocoa, delicate honey, bright fruit, sweet malt, exceptionally smooth finish

Description: Keemun Mao Feng Pre-Qingming is an exceptional, ultra-premium Chinese black tea from Anhui Province, China. Harvested during the earliest days of spring, this rare selection represents one of the most highly prized expressions of Keemun Mao Feng, celebrated for its delicate sweetness, refined complexity, and limited seasonal production.

What makes Pre-Qingming so special? The name refers to tea harvested before the Qingming Festival in early April, prior to the later spring rains and main spring harvest. During this brief early-season window, cooler temperatures encourage slower growth, producing exceptionally tender young buds and leaves with concentrated flavor and natural sweetness. These delicate early pickings are produced in limited quantities and are highly sought after by tea connoisseurs.

Mao Feng, meaning "fur peak," refers to the fine, downy hairs on young tea buds and the distinctive shape of the leaves. Carefully hand-rolled, charcoal-fired, and hand-sorted, this beautiful whole-leaf tea showcases the remarkable qualities of an early spring harvest.

The infusion is smooth and aromatic, with notes of caramel, cocoa, and delicate honey, complemented by bright, almost juicy fruit undertones and a gentle malty sweetness. Its exceptionally refined character and lingering finish offer an elegant expression of Keemun that stands apart from traditional Congou grades and later spring harvests.

A truly special Chinese black tea for those who appreciate rare seasonal harvests, exceptional craftsmanship, and the finer nuances of premium loose leaf tea.
