Mountain Cloud (Mei Zhan)
Tasting Notes: semisweet chocolate, malt, molasses, stone fruit
Description: Mountain Cloud is a handcrafted, single-origin black tea made from the Mei Zhan cultivar on a small mountain farm in Fuding, Fujian Province, China. This slow-growing cultivar is also commonly used to produce oolong tea. Here, its dense buds and leaves are fully oxidized and carefully fired, creating an outstanding black tea with remarkable depth and natural sweetness.
The dry leaves carry an enticing aroma of semisweet chocolate. Once steeped, they produce a clear amber cup layered with rich malt, dark molasses, and ripe stone fruit. The smooth, full flavor finishes with a lingering sweetness that continues long after each sip.
Crafted according to local “fresh tea” traditions, each harvest reflects the character of its growing season rather than being produced to a standardized flavor profile. The substantial leaves may be steeped multiple times, revealing new layers with each infusion.
Ingredients: black tea from Fuding, Fujian Province, China
