Fujian Black Congou
Tasting Notes: cocoa, malt, fresh fruit, lingering sweetness
Description: Fujian Congou is a classic style of black tea whose name comes from gongfu, meaning skill and patience. The beautifully shaped leaves combine deep black leaf with golden buds, creating a tea with a crisp aroma, satisfying depth, and natural sweetness.
A delicate firing preserves the tea’s freshness while developing layers of softly sweet cocoa, rich malt, and fresh fruit. The cup is smooth and refreshing with a clean, lingering sweetness. Its substantial leaves may be steeped multiple times and can also be enjoyed with milk.
Ingredients: black tea from Fujian Province, China
Steep Directions: steep 1 heaping teaspoon of tea per 8 oz of water, 200°F, for 2-3 minutes.
