Tasting Notes: smooth malty classic black tea

Description:  A medium to full-bodied black tea that is the very definition of a classic black tea with a fine balance of maltiness and slight hints of briskness. This lovely black tea has a clean flavor that is balanced with astringency and sweet maltiness. A smooth black tea with notes of honey, citrus, and hay. 

A versatile tea that works well straight up or can take milk, sugar, or honey. An excellent hot or iced tea that we recommend for all black tea drinkers. A perfect selection for those that love a balanced black tea. We recommend this tea to lovers of English and Irish Breakfast. 

Harvested in the Nilgiri Mountains of South India, aka the Blue Mountains of India, this classic black tea is one of our favorites. Since 1971, the Tiger Hill Estate has been producing high elevation teas at 5,000 - 8,500 feet. This orthodox black tea is graded in BOP, broken orange pekoe, for a faster infusion that results in a sturdy brew.

Ingredients: Nilgiri black tea from Tiger Hill Estate in India in FBOP grade (flowery broken orange pekoe)

Steep Directions: steep 1 heaping teaspoon of tea per 8 oz boiling water, 205-212°F, for 3-4 minutes
