  • 900

Tasting Notes: earthy with notes of apricot, honey, malt

Description: A crisp and clean tasting Ceylon tea consisting of wiry black and gold leaves. This tea has a complex amber cup with a rich honey fragrance and round notes of apricot, honey and malt. A good selection for those that enjoy a medium-bodied breakfast tea.

Sri Lanka, formerly known as Ceylon, has been producing first-class teas since the mid 1800's and is currently one of the largest tea producing countries in the world.

Vithanakande is a distinguished family owned and operated tea estate in the Ratnapura district of Sri Lanka. This heritage tea estate overlooks the lush Sinharaja rainforest. The climate of this region is perfect for growing their signature teas that have black twisted leaves which produce a light amber cup, smooth flavor, slight malty taste, and medium to full body.

This versatile black tea works well on its own or with milk, sugar or honey. An excellent selection for black tea lovers.

Ingredients: Ceylon black tea from Vithanakande Estate in Sri Lanka in OP grade (orange pekoe)

Steep Directions: steep 1 heaping teaspoon of tea per 8 oz boiling water, 205-212°F, for 3-4 minutes
