Tasting Notes: coffee, butterscotch, caramel

Description:  High caffeine pu’er tea blended with coffee beans to create an intense cup of tea that is bold and earthy. The addition of caramel, almonds, and butterscotch adds subtle notes of rich sweetness. This tea is designed to keep you alert, energized, and motivated for hours at a time.

An excellent choice for coffee lovers. A popular iced tea as it's similar to an iced coffee. If you drink this tea straight up, it tastes more like coffee. If you drink it with milk, it tastes more like a pu'er or black tea.

We formerly called this tea Cow Harbor 10K in honor of The Great Cow Harbor 10K Race - a Northport Village 10 kilometer running race since 1977. We've since changed the name to Coffee Pu'er but do not worry, it is the exact same great flavor.

What is pu'er tea?  The medicinal properties present in pu'er teas are what set them apart. They're known to be powerful digestive aids, can ease stomach issues, are natural detoxifiers, may aid in weight-loss, may ease anxiety, and are said to lower both blood pressure and cholesterol.

Pu'er is an aged and fermented tea that is produced in the Yunnan province China. This ancient tea is now beloved all around the world. It was inadvertently created on the Tea Horse Road, an ancient trade route that spanned from China to Tibet. The thousand mile trade route navigated through mountains with harsh conditions. During the journey, it was found that tea leaves were altered by moisture, varying temperatures, and sunlight exposure. These natural conditions resulted in a fermentation and aging process of the tea. This process created a tea with unique taste profiles and particular health benefits. Nowadays, pu'er tea is deliberately aged and fermented to re-create the tea that was crafted while on the Tea Horse Road.

Ingredients: pu'er tea, coffee bean, almond, caramel, butterscotch, jasmine blossom, marigold, safflower

Steep Directions: steep 1-2 heaping teaspoon of tea per 8 oz boiling water, 205-212°F, for 3-5 minutes
